New greenkeeping machinery purchased and general update

Friday 22nd April 2011

Robert Hardie pictured on our new Toro Mower, the first machine purchased by Marshall Leisure since acquiring Craibstone Golf Course. This piece of kit will assist Robert in making sure that the course is in tip top condition throughout the summer.

Robert has to be commended for his hard work over the period of uncertainty, because without his love of the course then in all honesty the course would not have been saved. By keeping the course in fantastic condition, we can all benefit by enjoying our games of golf now that sun is shining. His passion meant that the Marshall family knew there was something worth saving and that golfers would return. We are pleased at the response to date and with 300 members making a commitment so far, we are encouraged and able to drive forward with our plans for the future.

Note to all players
Let’s not destroy the effort that Robert has put in keeping the greens in excellent condition by failing to repair pitch marks. It only takes a few moments on the green and by making a repair you prevent the grass dying or leaving unsightly bumps all over the green. Let’s all be considerate golfers.

Direct Debit Forms
We will be sending these out next week with full instructions - what is planned is for the 1st instalment to be collected around the 24th May and then 1st monthly thereafter commencing 1st June. It's unfortunate that it has taken so long to set up but these things do not happen overnight.

Membership Packs
We are working on putting everything together so you receive all the information in one pack. We don’t want to give you things incomplete - as that only leads to more questions rather than answers - we shall announce when they are ready sometime next week.
