Open Qualifying - Good Luck Lee

Sunday 24th June 2018

Tomorrow at Panmure Golf Club, resident teaching professional Lee Vannet will be playing in the Open Qualifying tournament.

Everyone at Craibstone sends our good wishes in the hope that you can earn a spot at Carnoustie next month.

Lee grew up at Carnoustie and as an aspring golfer knew every blade of grass around that stretch of golf links. At age 17, Lee became the second player ever to represent Scotland at all three levels in the same year- Boy’s, Youth’s and Men’s level in 1984.

Lee turned professional in 1986 and became the youngest winner ever of a Tartan Tour event, winning the 72-hole Daily Express Tournament on his home course at Carnoustie in 1987.

Having qualified for the European Tour in 1991, Lee spent his career playing on the European, South American and Tartan tours, finishing with a runner’s up position on the European Challenge Tour.

Every golfer who has spent time at the Craibstone Academy has seen an improvement in their golf game and that is down to Lee's coaching. Let's hope that the knowledge Lee shares with us, comes to the top tomorrow and he can play well and see where that leads him.

Come on the Craibstone!!!
