How's your New Years Resolution going?

Monday 10th February 2014

Are you one of the many who decided in 2014 you would resolve to lower your handicap, improve your short game, increase your driving distance?

90% of people who make New Years Resolutions have thrown in the towel after 4 weeks! Hopefully, you are not one of the 90% ?

Mind you, it has been quite a challenge to keep your game going with all the rain that has fallen! However, if you are serious about Improving your Golf Game, then anyone can Improve, without even hitting a ball!

In most cases, golfers who hit inconsistent shots, have poor Set-ups and Poor Body Rotation.

Practising the Correct Set Up position at home in front of a mirror is a great way to check you have good posture.

Standing with feet approximately shoulder width, and evenly balanced with your weight. You are looking to tilt your spine towards the ball, to allow your arms to hang out in front of you. All good players let their Arms hang! No TENSION in Arms. You should have a slight bend in your knees.

To Improve your Body Rotation, stand in your golf posture for a 5 iron, and then hold a 5 iron across your shoulders , right above your chest. Focus on turning your right shoulder behind you and up. When done correctly, your left shoulder will move under your chin, and you will feel an increased pressure in your right leg/ heel!

Practise these excercises regularly, and you will see a big difference in your Ball Striking !

For more information about off course Practise, book a Body Drill lesson with me in the Golf Studio!
