Deeside Pro-Am

I played in the Saltire Energy Pro-Am held at Deeside Golf Club on Thursday 16th July. My score of level par 70 finished in 9th Place, 5 shots behind Craig Ronald's 65.

I hit a lot of very good shots which yielded 4 birdies, the first of which was a 6 iron to 6 inches on the par 3, 5th hole , followed by a birdie on the 6th, and 9th holes to be out in 1 under 35. With a a bogey on the short 16th followed by a birdie on the 17th after a 40 yard pitch to 2 feet, I needed a par on 18 for a 69. The last hole at Deeside is 440 yards, I hit a nice drive followed by a 6 iron from 174 yards to 20 feet from the hole. Looking to run my putt down the hill at the right speed, I miss judged the break and finished 4 feet left and lipped out my par putt.

I was disappointed to bogey 18, but very pleased with my performance. 

My next outing is at Montrose on Saturday 25th July in the yearly club Pro-Am.

I remember playing in the 1999 Craibstone Golf Club Pro -Am, it would be great to get it back on the 2016 Tartan Tour Schedule.
