Results from P and H championships at Renaissance

Monday 25th May was the first round of the P and H at The Renaissance Golf Course next door to Muirfield! My score of 75( 4 over par) in blustery conditions was okay. I hit the ball well but did not take advantage on the greens. With only 40 spaces available after 36 holes for the last round cut. I was lying in 50th place. In round 2 I was level par after 10 holes and sitting comfortably in the very windy conditions. A pulled tee shot on the short par 3 , 11th hole left me behind a tree and cost me 2 dropped shots. Despite some birdie opportunities from there on in , I finished with a 3 over 74.
With a 6 hour wait to find out what the cut would be, I finished 1 shot too many, with exactly 40 players on 6 over par or better. It was disappointing to miss out, but on the positive side I hit a lot of very solid shots. Especially in windy conditions.
If you are having trouble in windy conditions, focus on your balance and Tempo. Remember to take an extra club in to the wind and swing Smooth!
If you are one of those players who practices well, but does not take it to the golf course. You would benefit from an on course Playing Lesson- great way to establish a pre and post shot routine and learn how to deal with nerves!
