VSA Pro-Am at Deeside Golf Club

Friday 16th May 2014

Yesterday I played my first event on the 2014 Tartan Tour, in the VSA Charity Pro-Am at the beautiful Deeside Golf Course.

Greig Hutcheon won with a 7 under par 63, great score, well done Greig.

I shot 72, with halves of 36. For my first competitive game of the year, I was reasonably happy, I played very solid for the first 12 holes,

hit a few scrappy shots over the last 6 holes, but was able to get up and down a few times to save par.

There is no secret to improving your golf score, it's ALL about your ability to hole Putts and Chip/Pitch close to the hole.

Having played in over 40 European Tour events with a number of Major winners, from Darren Clarke to Jose Maria Olazabal, I can tell you this, if you are not practising your short game twice as much as your long game, then you are NOT practising to IMPROVE your score or your handicap.

If there is an aspect of your Short Game that is letting you down, and you are frustrated at throwing away shots when you are close to the green! Why not book a Short Game Assessment, I will check your Putting, Chipping and Pitching technique and give you some advice if required! You can use your Lesson Voucher for this!

Alternatively, book a Short Game Handicap Session to establish what your handicap is for all aspects of your Short Game.
