Race to Craigendarroch 2020 - Week 8 results

Monday 30th December 2019

We have a new leader in the Race to Craigendarroch 2020, with George Breen opening up a 5 point lead. None of the other players near the top picked up points on Saturday. We now have 54 out of the 107 entrants with points against their name and with scoring always high it shows how difficult it is to amass a lot of points. You need to be in the high 30s or even 40+ stableford points to be in the top ten, but with a lot of golf still to be played a run of consistent performances can see you climb the order of merit table.

In the eclectic divisions there is no great change this week.

Division 1 - Andrew Finlay is on 54, Ian Still on 55, and then 4 players on 58 - Craig Wilkinson, George Breen, Martin Elrick and John Borthwick.

Division 2 - David Adam edges ahead on 60, with Mark Mundie and Scott Anderson on 63, and on 64 its George Ross, John Esson, Matthew McDonald, Stewart Dalgarno and Ian Milne.

Division 3 - Stevie Tawse remains in front on 70, with Seamus Ryan and Mitchell Smith on 72, with Ian Reid on 73.

The weekend golf brings to an end a successful 2019 for the club, we've seen the course busy across the whole year with a lot of competitions played and over 16000 rounds of golf played and still the course is in excellent condition for late December.

Membership was up on 2018 and already we have accepted new members in for 2020, with a number of enquiries already received. Our Corporate accounts doubled in 2019 and with a few new ones looking for 2020 we think its going to be a busy twelve months ahead. Our outings are filling up with already prime dates for June all gone and May nearly full.

As the year comes to a close, I would like to thank all the members for their support during 2019, its been good fun and thankfully your moans havent been too bad!!!!

On behalf of myself, Asia and Calum have a fantastic new year and we look forward to welcoming you all back for the 2020 medals and competitions.

Derek
