Staysure Trophy Qualifier

Saturday 13th July 2019

On Friday 12th July, I had the pleasure of playing alongside Kenny MacPhee as my partner, representing Craibstone Golf Club in the Staysure Trophy Qualifier played over the stunning Montrose Golf Links.

The event saw over 20 golf clubs from across Scotland battle it out for the 1 qualifying spot to play in the grand final at the London Golf Club at the end of July.

The fromat of better ball stableford saw Crow Wood Golf Club score 44 points to take 1st place. Kenny and I played quite well, despite 3 bogeys on the front nine to score 39 points and finish in 8th place alongside our playing partners Murcar Golf Club professional Gary Forbes and partner John Black, we had a great time and shared many stories, as John and I had competed in the Scottish Boys of 1984.

Many thanks to Staysure for sponsoring such a great event, and Montrose Links for hosting and presenting their course in fabulous condition, I don’t believe I have ever seen it in better condition, congrats. Thanks again to Kenny for being a great playing partner and for performing so well. It’s always a nervy start when you are announced on the first tee, Kenny did a great job in hitting 2 fine shots on the green and 2 Putting for a nett birdie.

Craibstone Academy Junior Summer Camp

From Monday 15th July to Thursday 18th July the practice range will be closed from 8.30am to 1pm each day whole I deliver a 4 day camp for junior golfers which involves skill development in the format of games for understanding alongside team building activities and understanding the rules and etiquette of the game.
