Been a busy week for the Craibstone teams, first up on Tuesday Night was a home match for the Pennant team against Alford in the Gordon & District Pennant League.
Craibstone won 4-0, with Ian Still and Andrew Finlay fighting back after being behind by winning 4 holes in a row to pick up the first point. George Breen and Steve Prince found that pars were good enough and won their match 2up. Craig Wilkinson and Stuart Milne were involved in a tight battle until a good 4 going up the last also secured a 2up victory. In the last pairing John Borthwick and Murray Bruce had an easier night winning with an impressive 5&4 victory.
Our Seniors team travelled to Stonehaven on Thursday morning and thankfully the day did brighten up for them but home advantage was the difference as Stonehaven ended up winning the friendly fixtures 4 matches to 2. A tricky course to master but our team did well in what was close matches.
On Thursday night, it was anoher Pennant fixture, this time the Aberdeen Pennant League and Craibstone travelled to Auchmill for another away fixture. A really good performance from the whole team seen Craibstone win 4.5 to 0.5.
Ian Still and Andrew Finlay won 5 and 4, George Breen was partnered with Craig Shanaghey and won 3 and 2, Murray Bruce and Paul Reid (another making his first start) halved their match, Craig Wilkinson and Stuart Milne recorded a 4 and 3 win, before JB1 and JB2 (John Borthwick and Jon Bodicoat) wrapped things up with a 4 and 2 win.
Great performance lads, well done.
