Benefits of an On Course Playing Lesson

Friday 29th April 2016

Have you ever wondered  why,or noticed that the  quality of your ball striking in Practice is far better than it is in Competition?

The answer is 2 fold, you are probably practicing incorrectly, ie, hitting the same shot with the same club repeatedly which is called Block Practice and results in feeling good at your competence , but does not transfer to the course, as it is not Training your Brain and Body to execute under pressure.

Far better to practice hitting different clubs to different targets on every ball, and also going thru your pre shot routine as you would on the course!

The other reason is trying too hard to score well! Your mindset in competition has to be all about making good decisions, staying committed to your shot selection and execution of the shot, as well as playing with great Tempo.

I like to spend time with all my students on the golf course to really see how they perform and the quality of decisions they make regarding club choice, and how they react to poor outcomes, and to really find out what is going on inside their head! The difference in reducing your handicap by 3 shots can be down to just thinking better, as opposed to swinging the club better!

If you are serious about improving your game this year, then you need a Developmental Plan . All of my Long Term Development Plans incorporate On Course Sessions.
